When can I have the baby photoshoot?/ what are milestone packages?
- You can start your shoot right from 8 days of birth. Isn’t it wonderful? We have taken new born shoot even for a 4 days old baby.
- Let’s understand things better now! Broadly speaking, these are the best times to photograph the babies in the first year of birth:
- The first milestone is Newborn Photography. This is recommended in the first 30 days. However, the most ideal time is from 6 to 12 days after birth. How wonderful it will be to see or show your kids how beautiful they were as soon as they were born. Worth every frame .
- The second milestone is Baby Photography. This is recommended from 3 months and upwards when the little ones get their head control. The babies at at this stage will be the cutest. We can’t wait to get hold of the lovely little dollops that you have created.
- Third milestone would be after 6 months – It’s when they are at their squishy best and can sit with support . Don’t ever miss this milestone. This stage is the bridge between newborn and kids photography.
- Fourth milestone being Sitter Photography. This is recommended as soon as the baby starts sitting on their own for about 15 minutes, usually between 7 to 9 months from birth. However, the most ideal time is 8 months, just when the baby starts sitting but before they start crawling. This is when we can plan outdoor sessions for a complete new dimension.
- Fifth milestone is recommended for 8 – 11 months when they can stand with support. We can get a wide variety of poses from them at this stage indoors or outdoors.
- That depends on the package that you select. We offer a variety of packages for every milestone.
- Our packages and their cost will be sent to you upon request based on your preferences.
- The starting price of the packages start from Rs. 20,000/-
- We use high end Canon camera along with high quality prime lenses.
- During this discussion we will answer any questions that you may have.
- This discussion is usually done on the phone and on Whatsapp
- We can also have this meeting at our studio, so that we can explain to you in detail about what will happen on the day of the shoot. During this meeting, we together will decide the look and feel of the shoot, discuss your requirements, and provide some recommendations to you.
- We can also look at the costumes and check if they fit ( Both for maternity and kids sessions)
- This interactive session will help us to understand your requirements which aids in planning your portfolio session in the best possible manner.
- We will be happy to show you sample products that are available in the studio.
- Taking pictures and/or videos on cell phones or personal cameras is restricted in our studio. We used to allow these earlier. But that led to people taking photos with their cameras and phones in our lighting . The final decision was made after people started standing by our side and urged the kids to look at THEIR cameras instead of ours. We will make it up for you through our speedy delivery process.
- Footwear/Shoes are NOT ALLOWED in our studio. People being photographed are allowed to wear shoes if the theme / set requires them to do so.
- Ofcourse we prefer that your masks or on in these times. However at times, your baby requires to see your face and smiles to keep up to the mood. Sanitising is a must .

- Yes we do photography for birthdays , baby shower events, naming ceremonies and tonsure events, details will be mailed to you upon request.
- Every child is unique. We never want to take plenty of run of the mill, ordinary images. We solely focus our efforts on producing unique images for every child. That being said – we don’t limit ourselves to a specific number of images. It all depends on the kid’s mood on that day.
- Of course, you get all images from the session except for a few aesthetically and technically imperfect ones.
- Booking, planning, and getting ready for the session – 7 to 10 days.
- The session will last for 2 – 6 hours depending on the package.
- One week post the session or after making the balance payment whichever is later , you will receive the original images from the shoot.
- Once you select the images and provide it to us, we will deliver the final retouched images and prints – if you have ordered any, within 5 working days.
- We also provide an express service which allows you to get your order completed within 7 days all inclusive. Details of this will be provided to you during the pre-shoot interaction.
- We use a cloud based service to transfer all photographs.
- Once edited images are approved and you specify the requirement for prints / products. Prints and products are not covered under the express service
- Prints & frames – 2 weeks
- Albums – Upto 4 weeks
- Personalized Products – Upto 4 weeks
- Other products, not listed above – 5 weeks
- For children we do 1 costume change per theme during a session.
- We generally take 25-30 shots per look which, depending on the shoot type, might include close ups, mid-length shots, and full length shots. If you have a specific requirement we will discuss that during the pre-shoot consultation.
- After the shoot, all the images taken during the shoot will be reviewed on a large screen. We strongly recommend you to review them after the session at the studio. If not , we will assume you are satisfied with the images.
- In a highly unlikely case ,If you are not satisfied with any of the set ups, please let us know and we will either postpone, redo the setup after a mutual discussion.
- Only if you are fully satisfied with the images should you pay the balance payment for the shoot.
- The review process is an important part of our shoot process as it gives you a chance to view the images and see what has been photographed. If you come back to us at a later date & express an issue with the shoot or the pictures neither would we be in a position to address the same nor would we be liable for any refund or anything in lieu of a refund.
- We consider the review process as very important as it gives you a chance to look at the photographs just captured and discuss any issues whatsoever.we couldn’t accommodate any issues raised on a later date, if this review session is missed.
- We accept Cheques, Electronic Transfers (RTGS / NEFT / IMPS), Cash, Debit and credit cards are also accepted
- Our bookings require 30% of the package amount as advance. This amount is Refundable.
- Balance payable on the shoot day after the completion of the session
- Yes we do share images on our social media, website, and multiple other platforms & venues (both online and in print). It is mainly to help exhibit our work. We get work from clients by displaying our previous works.
- Due to our high volume of work, we will not be able to share images from all the sessions.
- The photographer owns the copyright and can use it for any editorial use without permission of the person in the picture , strictly from a legal standpoint. However we can accommodate requests not to post images until a certain period has passed – like maternity images to be posted after childbirth etc.
- Please make a request by sending us an email to yellowbirdimages@gmail.com before or after the shoot.
- There are 2 ways by which clients can have privacy and not get their images posted.
- 1. They can purchase complete copyrights of the photographs from us. We forfeit our rights to own the pictures and the client can use it anyway they want.
- 2. They can purchase the privacy of images which will prevent us from posting or using them online or offline , but clients are still bound by copyright where they couldn’t use the images anyway they wish. It only means they have purchased the option that will restrict us from posting the images online.
- Indian and international laws assign the copyright of the photograph to the creators of a photograph.
- Copyrights have to be purchased separately. Having done a shoot doesn’t by default mean that copyrights also were purchased.
- Photographs are protected by copyright,right from the moment of creation.
- Photographers have the exclusive right to own,reproduce their photographs in any way they see fit.
- Unless there is permission from the photographer, no one can copy, distribute , publicly display ( online or offline ), or create derivative works from photographs.
- Copyright infringements, reproducing photos without permission, can result in civil and criminal penalties.
- Inform us before or on the day of the shoot. We will mention the charges for purchasing the copyright .Buying the copyright entitles the client to use the images in any which way they want as they become the owners of the photographs
- Without Prior written permission is taken from Yellowbird Photography the client cannot use the pictures taken by Team yellowbird Photography for any of the following
– Advertising /Publishing
– Editorials – Selling to magazines
– Displaying in Exhibitions
– Selling to Stock Sites
– Altering / manipulating an image to a different form
– Giving to a non-profit organization even free of cost - Images we took can be sent to Production houses /ad agencies to promote the child. In that case, clients need to sign a release with the agency that such photos will not be published without our permission. A copy of this release must also be sent to us.
- If our logo is placed on the photo, clients cannot remove, manipulate, or crop the photograph to remove, blur, or alter our logo.
- Apart from the above, We grant our clients permissions to use the photos taken by us in any which way whatsoever they want.
- We will have a discussion about clothing during our pre-shoot consultation. Please find below the
- general guidelines to help you get started with thinking about the process.

3. Wear what gives you confidence. - We Provide costumes for the kids. Still we request everyone to get their own costumes -about 4 – 6 different options for clothing for the kid depending on the package you select.
- We do not provide costumes for parents . We suggest you get white or black or pastel shades of costumes for family portraits , preferably plain without any designs or prints.
- Regarding color of the costume – there are no hard and fast rules . Just get the one that is more matching to your skin tone. Light colored costumes appear good for lighter skin tones and vice versa
- We don’t have to be seasonal; everything from t-shirts, Full sleeve shirts to sweaters and light jackets can work. Unless we consciously go for a specific look, we advise against large patterns or logos.
Maternity
When is the best time to get a maternity photoshoot done?
- Maternity at its best is done between 28 – 32 weeks depending on the bump. Post 32 weeks mothers usually get tired easily.
- Yes, you can explore the choices that we have. It’s always best to have yours unique and personal to you. Nevertheless we have a collection of 30 designer gowns in various sizes which we provide for shoots. Clients can try the costumes for fitting a week to 10 days prior to the scheduled session.
- Yes absolutely. We have clients rocking their sessions in sarees, tshirts and even in their Reception lehengas.
- We can shoot in the comfort of our studio or any outdoor locations such as park, beach etc or any resorts and for hire shoot locations.
- For now we provide costumes for mothers. We are working on getting a collection ready for fathers also.Usually they can wear white or something matching the color of the gowns along with plain jean or normal pants.
- Its not part of the package. We can suggest you the make up artists who regularly work for us.
- Studio sessions can be scheduled anytime of the day. For outdoor shoots – we usually suggest afternoon or late afternoon so that we can get the golden hour during the shoot.
- Both.
- We also provide matching tiaras, headbands and props. If you need anything in particular ,do make sure it is mentioned in the pre-shoot discussion and we will arrange for it if feasible.
- We have a vast collection of props and set ups that are at your disposal without any additional charges. However, if any set requires materials that are not available with us, we will arrange them using external vendors at some additional cost.
- Yes, we have a separate air-conditioned client room with an attached rest room where you can relax while we are getting the sets ready during the shoot.
- We are open to shoot anywhere. For shoots outside our studio, there will be additional outdoor charges which will be mentioned in the packages.
Kids
Would you be providing costumes for babies and parents?
- Yes , we do provide costumes for babies from newborn upto 1 year if needed.
- We also have a huge collection of accessories such as hats, necklaces, headbands, coolers, plain glasses, suspenders, footwear etc which are available for shoot.
- In some premium packages, we provide costumes for mothers too.
- These topics will be discussed in pre shoot discussion for your shoot.
- Yes, we have an array of unique props and sets which will be completely free of cost for the session.
- Yes, you can. We usually have a lot of options to choose from or completely create a new one for your adorable one.
- We suggest black or white or pastel color costumes for parents preferable plain without any designs/patterns.
- We fortunately have an experience in handling the kids in different moods. We suggest planning the shoot ideally after their nap time and after they have a snack or meal. That solves 80% of the issues. During shoot – if the kid doesn’t co-operate, we will be happy to wait till they get bank into the mood. However despite all our efforts, if the kid still doesn’t want to be photographed – we will have to respect the child and reschedule the shoot to another day.
- Yes, we have a separate air-conditioned client room with an attached rest room where you can relax while we are getting the sets ready during the shoot.
- We are open to shoot anywhere. For shoots outside our studio, there will be additional outdoor charges that will be mentioned in the packages.
- Yes, of course we will. Having experience of photographing 1000s of kids and parents we do understand what makes them click and bring out the best possible poses from you.
Newborn
How long will newborn sessions last?
- Typically it ll be between 2 – 4 hrs depending on the setups planned.
- Its ideal to plan the session between 8 – 15 days of birth. We have handled newborn shoots of 45 days babies. It really depends on how comfortable sleeping they are.
- We can shoot in our studio or your place
- Yes, we have a wide variety of wraps and unique costumes from international suppliers for your new born.
- Yes we have a huge collection of unique props and sets which ll be completely free of cost for the session.
- We suggest black or white or pastel color costumes for parents preferable plain without any designs/patterns.
- We suggest planning the shoot ideally after they get a hot bath and right after a feed.
- They need to sleep soundly to start the session. It helps if we can keep them awake during the travel time to the studio. During shoot – if the baby does not co operate ,we’ll be happy to wait till he gets in the mood. However, despite all our efforts if the baby still doesn’t get pacified – we will have to respect the mood and re-schedule the shoot to another day.
- Yes we have a separate air conditioned client room with attached rest room where you can relax while we are getting the sets ready during the shoot.
- We are open to shoot anywhere. For shoots outside our studio, there ll be additional outdoor charges which ll be mentioned in the packages.
Events
When ll you arrive at the event location?
- Usually, we ll arrive at the event location and hour and half prior to the event . It ll give us enough time to set our lights , document the decor and take the getting ready images and family portraits afresh.
- We document the getting ready part, family portraits , decor , guests interacting ,candid images of the parents and close family, the event and family & group portraits.We request clients to convey beforehand if any specific things are needed to be covered.
- Generally we ll refrain from giving directions during the event so as not to affect the natural flow of events and interrupting the candid moments.However, if the image need us to direct we ll not hesitate to do so.
- In general, it ll be around 6 hrs – most of the events usually fall in this schedule. That being said- we ll work till we get all the needed images satisfactorily.
- We usually take before the event . However we can take anytime during or after the event.

Plenty 🙂
- We suggest that at least a week prior to the event , get the kid trained to be awake during the scheduled event hours so that they don’t feel sleepy or cranky during the event.
- It also helps to get them accustomed to a crowd of people prior to the events. Getting them to malls or shopping areas will generally do the trick . That way they wont feel intimidated by the birthday guests.
- If you are planning entry through battery powered cars – train them at least a week prior to the event so that they feel comfortable in it. We’ve seen kids crying out of fear during such entry
- Please don’t plan more than 2 costume changes for the baby. They might feel irksome and wont co operate for the rest of the time
- See to it that they are continuously engaged by someone. If many events are planned such as magic, games etc which they might not understand, they might lose interest in the whole thing and get cranky while start searching for the familiarity and comfort of the home.
